...getting simple information from NHS24

...getting simple information from NHS24 was easy. My partner recently made the mistake of phoning them for the address of the nearest 24 hour pharmacy. They insisted on first taking from her all my personal details - including the old address at which I was registered and only after she guessed which address that was would they then give out the nearest pharmacy to that address, rather than where we were. She then gave them all her personal details only eventually to be told that there wasnt one within 30 miles. 30 minutes on the phone in total. For a simple request like that there was clearly no need for any personal information to be divulged, let alone the reason for why a pharmacy was needed (which was also requested). A total waste of time for her, as well as the operative.

William notes: What is it about the NHS and personal data? Parts of the NHS have more "embedded love" than anything you can imagine. And parts of it make you think Stalin won the war! Well, I suppose he did.
