My disability prevents me from sitting, meaning I can only be driven for a maximum of 5 minutes (about 1.5 miles from my house). I can also only walk less than 50 metres. So I am entitled to a blue badge. But our local policy is that the blue badge has to be collected in person (they won't send it through the post like they do everywhere else in the country). The nearest local office is 4 miles away. So they have my blue badge, but are denying me access to it as I can't get there myself (I have to be transported lying down, which would mean hiring a private ambulance at huge cost which I can't afford), they won't post it and they won't allow my daughter to collect it on my behalf. So I'm too disabled to pick up my disability badge.

Wouldn't it be better if the organisations which are there to support disabled people didn't actively discriminate against them?
